CAT’s Holiday Toy Drive “Gifts” Back to Patient’s Children

Tuesday December 6, 2022

CINCINNATI, December 6th, 2022 – Center for Addiction Treatment hosts holiday gift drive matching gift donors with children of recovering patients in need this season.

CAT staff & members of the Greater Cincinnati community are volunteering to be anonymously paired with a patient in need’s child now through December 9th to answer their holiday gift hopes. This heartwarming campaign kicked off November 24th, with over 50 individuals pledging to “gift” back so far. Those who’d like to join CAT in uplifting the “rebuilding families” aspect of their mission may email CAT at info@ccatsober.org to receive a child’s anonymous profile of needs and wishes.

“I remember when I first got sober, how hard I was trying to get my life together. I had a lot of wreckage to take care of and money was extremely tight,” shares Nicole Fredrick, CAT’s Director of Access & Outreach. “My boss at the time believed in me and knew how much it meant to me to be able to give something to (my kids) for Christmas. She bought my son a $25.00 gift card to Game Stop and my daughter a big stuffed animal. Being able to give that present to my children meant the world to me. The compassionate team of employees who work at CAT knows how difficult it can be for newly sober people in recovery this time of year. That’s why we are so excited to have our first gift drive for our clients who may not otherwise be able to give a gift to their children this year.”

Donors are encouraged to deliver their gift to CAT’s campus at 834 Ezzard Charles Drive by end of day December 12th to allow time for all gifts to be wrapped up & delivered to each child’s family. Presents may be dropped off on weekdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM to Loria Carter.
